Teeth Whitening in Black Rock
Brighten your smile up to eight shades in less than an hour with Zoom whitening at our Black Rock clinic.
There are plenty of over-the-counter options when it comes to teeth whitening. The problem with most of these is that instead of whitening your teeth they only dehydrate your teeth. What this means is that your teeth look whiter but after a time they’ll return to how they actually look.
Also, if the cause of your tooth discolouration isn’t cosmetic than an over-the-counter tooth whitening kit will have no effect. But an over-the-counter teeth whitening kit can’t tell you that.
That is just one of the reasons why it is better for you and your oral health to visit a dentist. When you visit Bayside Smiles we will assess the health of your teeth and gums and determine what the best treatment is for you.
If your teeth are discoloured it is in your best interest for the dentist to be certain bleaching the enamel of your teeth is going to have the desired effect.
When will teeth whitening be ineffective?
Dark spots on teeth can be indicative of decay, trauma or side-effects of medication. In these cases treatments like Zoom teeth whitening won’t have any effect. If one of your teeth is decayed then you may need either a filling or root canal treatment. Trauma or dark spots may require a porcelain veneer.
What options does Bayside Smiles offer for Zoom teeth whitening?
Bayside Smiles offer Zoom teeth whitening in-office and take home. The in-office option takes around one hour, you sit in our comfortable dental chair and we apply zoom whitening bleach to your teeth, and for three 15 minute blocks a blue light is applied to activate the gel.
Teeth whitening doesn’t last forever. Generally this treatment lasts for about 9 to 12 months and then requires a touch-up.
If you would rather whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home we offer Zoom take-home whitening. This treatment involves having trays custom-made which you’ll wear at night. You’ll also be given the whitening gel and shown how to apply it to the trays. The at-home method takes two weeks depending and can produce similar results as the in-office option.
