Magda grew up in Bayside Melbourne and attended Star of the Sea and MacRobertson Girls High Schools. Magda then studied dentistry at the University of Sydney, graduating in 2000 with honours and receiving the medal for excellence in removable prosthodontics (dentures). Whilst studying, Magda also won a scholarship with Rotary to travel to Vietnam where she worked with the Australian Rotary Dental Team.
Magda then gained extensive experience in private practices in Perth and Sydney before moving to England to further her dental experience and travel widely. Magda has completed further study whilst in the UK with the prestigious
British Society of Occlusal Studies, gaining advanced skills in treating bite and jaw joint problems. Magda has a number of special interests in dentistry – she loves treating children and helping anxious patients overcome their fears. Magda also has a passion for cosmetic dentistry, having completed continuing education in the USA with the
American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Magda is married to Mike and lives locally with their two children Oliver and Lucy.
Dr Michael D Letham

Mike established
Bayside Smiles in 2006 in conjunction with his wife and fellow dentist Magda. Mike graduated from Sydney University in 2000 with Honours, receiving the R Morse Withycombe Prize for Proficiency in Clinical Periodontics (gum treatment). Mike worked throughout Australia and the UK gaining a broad range of experiences and knowledge, including active service in the Royal Australian Navy in the Persian Gulf.
Having now established his own practice, Mike’s goal is to provide high quality, long term dental care to his patients over the next 20 years. Mike strives to provide a modern, holistic approach that is tailored to each individual’s requirements. His focus is on being thorough and meticulous whilst being caring and compassionate.
Mike is a member of the
Australian Dental Association (ADA),
Australian Osseointegration Society (AOS),
Australian Society for Occlusal Studies (ASOS), Australian Prosthodontic Society (APS) and the
International Team for Implantology (ITI).
Mike lives locally and has two young children Oliver and Lucy.
Ms Brionie B Kelly
ADOH (Dent Hyg)

Brionie has been in the dental industry for over 10 years, graduating as a dental assistant in 2002 at R.M.I.T. Gaining a passion, Brionie then pursued further training in Dental Hygiene (oral health) in Adelaide, South Australia. After commencing her career as a hygienist in another private practice in Melbourne, Brionie moved to the UK where she was able to gain further experience in the dental industry as well as travelling extensively. Brionie returned to her home town of Melbourne in 2011 to take up a position at Bayside Smiles.
Brionie’s interests include periodontics, community health and nutrition.
Brionie has undertaken continuing education in both dental hygiene and tooth whitening and is a member of the
Victorian Dental Hygiene Association.
